Expansion of competencies and relocation.
In 2018 we took over Mechtronik AG into the kawe group, and in 2019 the two companies merged. With this acquisition, we strengthened ourselves in the areas of electronics, electromechanics as well as in machining. We were thus able to complete our internal production chain and now offer our customers an impressive vertical range of manufacture from a single source. The number of employees at both locations grew to over 70 specialists.
In the course of the merger, a joint company location became indispensable as an essential step for optimizing our service. The decision was made in favor of Untersiggenthal/AG.

Deepening product portfolio and growth into new industries
During these years, we further expanded our know-how in the manufacture of technically sophisticated sewage sludge drying systems and reformers and installed them throughout Europe. A modern Bystronic laser cutting system expanded our expertise in sheet metal processing, and logistics were optimized by setting up customer warehouses.
In 2017, we took over parts of Maschinenfabrik Lehner AG and Stephan Leunig joined the Executive Board. The capital base increased due to the expansion of the shareholder base. We now had over 30 highly qualified specialists at our disposal and were an attractive employer in the region.
We reached a further milestone with the new power plant components and mechanical engineering divisions and the further expansion of engineering. In the quality area, we laid the foundation for high-tech component construction with the construction of a new measuring room equipped with the latest measuring technology, and we successfully certified ourselves for ISO:9001 and ISO:14001.

Expansion of project business and change of management
Various new customers in the project business trusted our services and we won recurring orders with project management responsibility. We continuously expanded and modernized our machinery to meet the new requirements. In addition, we took on our first construction tasks in order to expand our portfolio and our range of services in this area as well. The production and assembly of sewage sludge dryers began.
