Swissmem goes kawe

Visit by the Swissmem management

In mid-June 2024, we welcomed the Swissmem management with Dr. Stefan Brubpacher and Mr. Noé Blancpain.

As an up-and-coming, steadily growing service provider for multinational corporations with a sophisticated portfolio, we benefit from Swissmem's services as a member. This applies both to active participation and networking in the Swiss ASD and to internal issues such as apprentice training and legal matters.

In an open exchange of ideas, the capabilities and needs of kawe as an SME in the international environment were discussed in order to further intensify the cooperation with Swissmem.

We would like to thank Dr. Stefan Brubpacher and Mr. Noé Blancpain for the highly interesting discussions and are already looking forward to the exciting Swissmem conference on 25 June in Bern.

Retirement

All the best!

Guiseppe "Pino" Merenda goes into well-deserved retirement.

Pino actively supported us in sheet metal processing for many years. We would like to thank him warmly for his first-class quality work and his positive manner.

We bid farewell to Pino with a small gift and an aperitif and toast his new chapter in his life.

We wish him all the best for his well-earned retirement, the best of health and plenty of time to enjoy his free time to the full!

Exam success

You made it!

Our apprentices have successfully passed their final apprenticeship examination.

We would like to congratulate Nihesh Chandrabala (polymechanic EFZ) and Alex Mallo (businessman EFZ) and wish them all the best. We are delighted that Nihesh will continue to support us at kawe ag and wish Alex every success in his studies.

Test bench construction

On behalf of and in cooperation with the company MAN and an international working group, kawe ag was able to design and build a technologically highly demanding project for a transportable test rig for pump bearings in subsea applications from 2022 to 2023. The design and construction required intensive coordination in the areas of design, mechanics, electrical engineering, control including testing and preparation of detailed quality and operational documentation.

The turbine was integrated into a 40 foot container, has a total weight of approximately 39 tons and rotor speeds in excess of 7000 rpm. Thanks to rigorous detailed planning and the high level of expertise and excellent teamwork of all employees involved, the extremely exciting project was successfully completed both technically and on schedule.

Environment

Sustainability

In line with kawe ag's forward-looking, sustainable growth strategy, the use of solar energy for the existing photovoltaic system was further expanded in May 2022.

The existing PV system on the assembly hall 34B, with over 2000 m2 of panel space, one of the largest in the canton Argovia, was networked with the existing production hall 34A, where all large-scale energy consumers are set up, in cooperation with the companies Durent and Solarpuls.

With this investment, the share of green electricity in the total energy consumption of kawe ag could be massively increased. As an innovative SME in the canton of Aargau, kawe ag would thus like to make a further contribution to sustainable production for the good of the community.
