In mid-July 2025, the new owners Michael Reinhard and Marc Flückiger took over the operational management of kawe AG. The previous managing directors and owners, Stephan Leunig and Michel Indrizzi, are handing over the reins while remaining connected to the company as investors. In addition, Michel Indrizzi will take a seat on the Board of Directors of kawe AG.
kawe AG started in 1986 as a small plant manufacturer. Today, we are a broadly positioned provider and supplier of sophisticated solutions in plant and special machine construction for the Swiss tech industry. With strong manufacturing and engineering expertise and a comprehensive range of services, we supply customers throughout Switzerland and worldwide.
In recent years, our two managing directors and owners, Stephan Leunig and Michel Indrizzi, have played a decisive role in shaping the company. Under their leadership, KAWE AG grew from 18 to 70 employees over the past 10 years. A stable customer base has been established, particularly in the energy and defense sectors.
In parallel with the growth strategy, the two managing directors also enhanced the company’s performance. They invested in manufacturing, digital processes, and expanded the production area with a new workshop to around 6,000 square meters. At the same time, one of the largest solar installations in the canton of Aargau was gradually implemented to achieve a forward-looking CO2 footprint. Today, the company maintains a sustainable delivery reliability of over 95% and is a trusted and sought-after partner in both industrial and international markets. Next year, the company will celebrate its 40th anniversary.
Stephan Leunig and Michel Indrizzi planned their succession at an early stage. In mid-July 2025, two experienced industry experts, Michael Reinhard and Marc Flückiger, took over operational management. Michael Reinhard assumes the position of CEO, while Marc Flückiger will serve as CFO in the future.
While many SMEs take a hesitant approach to succession planning, Stephan Leunig and Michel Indrizzi prepared the transition with foresight. Now the right time has come to hand over operational management. In July 2025, Michael Reinhard and Marc Flückiger assumed the operational leadership of kawe AG.
Michael Reinhard brings international industry experience as well as strategic expertise from corporate management and consulting. For him, joining kawe AG is a deliberate step into entrepreneurship.
Marc Flückiger has extensive leadership experience as an entrepreneur and knows the challenges of an SME firsthand. He can directly contribute his experience from several SME succession processes. Together, they will continue to develop the company in the long term.
Kawe AG will continue its growth path with a clear focus on in-house developed large-scale systems and new products for the energy sector. With our strong in-house manufacturing capabilities, we deliver tailored solutions and flexible production for complex industrial applications.
Michael Reinhard and Marc Flückiger remain committed to growth and aim to unlock the company’s full potential, building on its solid and diversified foundation.
With our strong capabilities in mechanics and electromechanics, we position ourselves as a solution provider, delivering customized end-to-end solutions and offering a flexible manufacturing platform for demanding industrial products.
One of our specialties is welding complex assemblies, where we have strong expertise in rare techniques such as brazing as well as in modern laser welding.
In addition, with its experienced engineering team, kawe AG has the capability to design and develop complex large-scale systems entirely in-house. We also aim to further develop both existing and new products, particularly in the field of energy generation, and bring them to market.
Kawe AG continues to serve as a training ground for many apprentices and is committed to being a responsible employer, dedicated both to its employees and to the region.
Alongside the company’s business development, the new owners place great importance on ensuring internal continuity. Training skilled professionals remains a top priority, reflected in the above-average number of more than 10 apprentices among a total of 70 employees. We also remain deeply rooted in the region and are committed to being a responsible employer for our workforce.
Michel Indrizzi will continue to serve on the Board of Directors. Both former managing directors will also remain involved as investors in the company. This ensures a smooth transition with continuity.
